Packing a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine under its hood, it has access to 460 horsepower, 420 pounds-feet of torque, and 7,500 RPM. It also offers drivers a choice between a 10-speed automatic transmission and a six-speed manual transmission.
Reason One to Get the 2018 Ford Mustang GT? Drag Strip Mode.
The 2018 Ford Mustang GT has a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine under its hood. What exactly does that mean? 460 horsepower, 420 pounds-feet torque, and 7,500 RPM. More succinctly, it means power.
The GT's Drag Strip mode is the perfect example. When it's active, the Drag Strip maintains the car's torque while the 10-speed automatic transmission accelerates. This allows the car to speed up faster, allowing you to sprint from zero to 60 MPH in under four seconds.
