The Griz football season leaves us with one word to describe it, incredible! Everyone who went to the last three home games can agree what a fun and incredible playoff run that was! We cheered hard, we showed up, and we believed we would get to Frisco. The energy was electric after we won against Furman in overtime. It was tenfold the following weekend when we beat NDSU in double overtime! We are proud to have taken part in all the home games and witness one of the most nail biting playoff runs!!

Plane tickets booked, hotel rooms reserved, FCS Championship tickets purchased and we were off to Frisco!

A few of us traveled down differently, but one thing that we all experienced was the sense of community and camaraderie. We traveled in style; dressed in our finest Griz merchandise. Every time you saw someone wearing our colors you were greeted. Airplanes, shuttle busses, airports, and even around the state of Texas, when you saw someone wearing Griz you would say “Go Griz” along with a head nod, sometimes this was followed with a conversation about our beloved team.

Our first destination in Frisco; Rough Riders Stadium. The gorgeous facility was flooding with maroon! We heard from past Griz players, we watched the cheer team and marching band perform (quick shout out to the baton twirler), we chanted MONTANA GRIZZLIES, we watched highlight reals, listened to Coach Bobby Hauck, and enjoyed a firework show. It was a great night that seeded the energy for the next day!

The feeling at the tailgate is hard to translate into words. While standing in line the excitement, the pride, and the community gave you this feeling that is hard to describe. We just kept repeating “this is so cool” “I am so glad we did this” “I can’t believe we are here” “this is so fun” “this is incredible.” The stadium was packed and you made friends with everyone you sat or stood next to. Be ready, a MONTANA GRIZZLIES chant would break out at any minute, in any line, over an hour before the game even started. Side note: Monte definitely won the mascot dance off, it was not a tie. Unfortunately we didn’t get the win we were hoping for, but that didn’t change the incredible memories this past football season gave us! Even with the loss we were proud to have traveled down with our team; as we left the stadium you would hear “next year” and “Go Griz.” We wore our colors proudly as we explored Texas and while we traveled back home!

We hope to one day travel back down to Frisco and do it all over again!

As always we are proud sponsors of the Montana Grizzlies.

We can’t wait until next season, until then GO GRIZ!
