While it has a targeted EPA-estimated 300-mile range on its extended battery, it can also be used to power your home in case of an emergency. With a full battery, the Ford Intelligent Backup Power feature can provide power for your entire home for up to 10 days.
If you're on a job, though, this same energy can be used to power your tools. You can use up to 9.6 kW through 11 different outlets located around your truck.

However, the fully electric power of the Ford F-150 Lightning enables your truck to generate almost immediate torque as soon as you press the acceleration pedal-something that gas-based vehicles can't do.
This means that it will be easier to take off from the start, even if you're towing at maximum capacity. On the F-150 Lightning, this is 10,000 pounds when properly equipped. When it comes to payload, you can carry up to 2,000 pounds in the truck bed.
